3rd Doctors Appointment (16 Weeks)

This one was short and sweet. I got to hear the heart beat again. 160 bpm. Took a Glucose scan test but other than that it was pretty uneventful. Had a new Nurse Practitioner, didn't like her very much, wasn't as personal as the original one.

16 Weeks

In the next few weeks, our baby will double it's weight and add inches to it's length. Right now, it's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (last week it was an apple and 4 1/2 inches I guess it is just elongating this week) and 3 1/2 ounces. It's legs are much more developed, it's head is more erect than it has been, and it's eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. It's ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of it's scalp has begun, though it's locks aren't recognizable yet. It has even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, it's heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Third Doctors appointment tomorrow. Not really sure what about but I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow!

One month until we find out what we are having! My guess is that it is a girl...who knows though! What do you think?

Thanks for reading!

Movement?

When I'm lying on the couch at night winding down from the day, I have been starting to feel a little flutter below my belly button. It feels like a faint twitch on the inside. I has happended for the last two nights so I'm pretty sure it is what I think it is!

15 weeks

Our growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). It's busy moving amniotic fluid through its nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in its lungs begin to develop. It's legs are growing longer than it's arms now, and can move all of it's joints and limbs. Although the eyelids are fused shut it can sense light. There's not much for our baby to taste at this point, but it is forming taste buds. Finally, if we were to have an ultrasound this week, we would may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! But we won't be having an ultrasound until August 24th! Sorry we will have to wait.

I found out today that our baby will be a Capricorn! (if all goes according to plan)

I'm feeling well, still tired a lot. I'm starting to develop my baby bump and my clothes are very uncomfortable! Thank goodness for summer dresses!

We are starting to look into deciding what to put in our nursery and researching the best products! It's all very exciting! Thanks for reading!

How is it going?

13 Weeks 6 days- I'm really starting to feel prego! My pants are starting not to fit right, ugh! Thank-goodness for Summer Dresses! Other than that I feel pretty good. My hips are bugging me a little, so I made Gordon switch the mattresses to see if that would help my hips out at all, it did! Thanks babe! Not too much of an appetite still, wonder when that will go away?

2nd Appointment

Our second appointment (12 weeks) was July 1st 2009. This appointment we went over all the labs from the first appointment. And most importantly, at least to us, was hearing the Heartbeat for the first time. It was 163 bpm. It was a short and sweet appointment!
Next appointment: July 27th with the NP (16 Weeks)
August 24th for Ultrasound (21 Weeks)

We're Having a BABY!?!?!

We found out that we were expecting on May 16th 2009 with a positive home pregnancy test. It was amazing how one little word could flip your world upside down in a matter of moments.

Our first doctor's appointment was June 8th. Thinking we were 8 weeks pregnant, we found out that we were actually 9 weeks. The estimated due date is Jan 10th 2010. This appointment was very overwhelming. There were so much to go over, what to eat, what not too, what medicines you can or can't have, activities to avoid. What hospital we will deliver at. They drew a lot of blood and asked a lot of questions. Needless to say our heads were spinning when we left, but we were still very excited.
Next appointment: July 1st (12 Weeks)

Gordon and Sara-Mom and Dad's Story

Gordon and Sara met in College while attending The University of Northern Colorado in 2004. Gordon was actually a Senior in High School on a recruiting trip to UNC for Football, and Sara was a Freshman. While learning the ins and outs of Greeley, Gordon was taken to a popular Club, frequented by UNC Athletes, by his recruiter. There he met Sara, an OLDER woman. Of course the attraction was instantaneously for Gordon, however Sara was already dating someone else. She didn't give him a second glance. Once Gordon started attending UNC in the Fall of 2004 his and Sara's paths would cross on a regular basis. He played Football and she played soccer naturally their paths would cross. After attending a few of the same parties and get togethers Sara and Gordon exchanged AIM information (very bold). They would talk almost everyday and formed a great friendship. At this point Gordon knew he was in love with Sara, but she didn't return the feelings. After many months (almost 2 1/2 years) of reminding her of how amazing she was and how beautiful, they hung out occasionally. During these get togethers they fought and fought and fought like brother and sister, and an old married couple. If you ask Gordon he would say: "She treated me like crap!'" But if you asked her she would say: "I treated him like crap only because he was like a brother not a boyfriend." Eventually Gordon moved out of Greeley and back to Littleton, leaving Sara in Greeley. At the time they were not talking or hanging out much so it wasn't a huge upset to either of them. Until Sara realized that this person who she knew she could call anytime who would be there for her for anything, like babysitting her cat, was no longer around. This is when Sara finally understood that she really had feelings for Gordon and missed him and his affection.

One day Sara's boss at the time was trying to set her up with a friend of hers, they met the potential guy at Bandimere Speedway (Sara's first clue this would not work out!). Knowing that Gordon lived near the speedway, She used him as an excuse to get out of this 'blind date' telling him that she had a friend that she hadn't seen in a long time. Sara had to travel about 5 mins top, but being the idiot she is she got lost, 45 mins to an hour later she finally found his house, despite the directions is Scottish Mother, with her thick accent gave her. They don't know what it was but from that point on they have been head over heals for each other, and have been together ever since.

The first 6 months of their relationship was spent apart, she still lived in Greeley and he in Littleton. They spent a lot of time getting to know each other over the phone and traveled to see each other on the weekends they were free. After Sara graduated in May of 2007 they moved in together in Littleton. They have created a life together in Littleton and are living happily ever after.
